assalamualaikum
For this post i will brief a little bit about ethernet.
Ethernet
So what is ethernet? Does it differ from internet?
Ethenet is a system for connecting a number of computer systems to form a local area network, with protocols to control the passing of information and to avoid simultaneous transmission by two or more systems.
While internet is the name used to refer to the global interconnection of networks and computers that allow those who are connected to quickly share massive amounts of information.
The key difference is
Ethernet is a local area network used to connect computers near one another. Internet is a wide area network that computers far away can connect to in order to access information.
Ethernet is basically a network that allows computers in a local area to connect to each other. It is a group of technologies that allow computers to transmit data between each other. The computers connected over the Ethernet are usually within the same building or within close proximity of each other. With modern technology and improvements in Ethernet cables, the range of an Ethernet network can be improved up to a maximum span of ten kilometers. However, since the computers use meters of cable to connect to each other, it is impractical to connect computers very far away from each other.
Ethernet Is Wired - Wi-Fi Is Wireless
Ethernet uses cables to connect computers; Wi-Fi is its wireless counterpart, and both technologies are used together. See Wi-Fi and wireless router.
Ethernet Uses a Star Topology
All computers connect to a central switch that lets each sender/receiver pair transmit at full speed (10, 100 or 1000 Mbps). Spare telephone wires are sometimes used, but often at lower speeds.
thanks :)
